About these dates

The list opens on the current month. Pick any month to see the ships and people lost in it, across all the years of the register.
When we know the exact day, we show it. When the records give only the month, or disagree on the day, we mark it by the month.
Many ships simply never came home, so a date in the register may be the day a vessel sailed, was last seen or was lost.
