The Manchester Fire Department's annual chili cook-off is Friday, Oct. 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the fire station.

The event is free. Visitors can taste the chili and vote for a favorite, tour the station and watch safety demonstrations. Hot dogs will be available for anyone who would rather skip the chili.
